The root of the issue
At the heart of your binge eating is a painful relationship with yourself. When you are criticised or have an argument with someone, it can trigger within you deep feelings of insecurity and you end up feeling like you have failed as a parent/colleague/friend/partner - or that you are simply not enough.
These painful feelings then become so unbearable you turn to food to ‘stuff’ them down.
Binge eating at its core is the desire to escape uncomfortable feelings, coming from a painful relationship with yourself.
